COMING UP SOON AT THE WELD

1.  NOTICE OF AGM - Tuesday 8 September

We will hold The Busselton Repertory Club Annual General Meeting at the Weld Theatre on Tuesday 8 September 2026 at 7.00pm. 
All members and interested prospective members are welcome to attend.  Mark your diaries now, so you don't forget!. Please come along and support your Club.  Come along and get the business things done, then relax with a drink and  some very special entertainment. Celebrate with friends.
Members seeking election to office or as a committee member are required to be current financial members and are asked to submit their nomination by September 1st. Details & Form below.   Elections will be held, as all committee positions become vacant.   

PLEASE NOTE:  All current financial members are eligible to vote at the AGM.

2.  AUDITIONS FOR ONE-ACT PLAYS - Saturday 29 August
Here's your big opportunity.  
AUDITIONS will be held next Saturday 29 August 2.00pm at the Weld Theatre
(There are 2 Plays but you can audition for both plays if you like!)

Play 1 Mystery
Susan - Late twenties. Is mourning the sudden death of her father and has been bequeathed the whole estate and family coffee bean business.
Tony - Mid twenties. Susan's brother. He is tipsy and questions the reading of the will.
Jacob - Late twenties. Susan's fiancée. Works in the marketing department of the family business.
Play 2 Comedic satire
George Spelvin - a young man (an accountant) mistaken for an actor
Meg - the Stage Manager
Sarah Siddons - a famous and glamorous actress
Dame Ellen Terry - A slightly less famous actress
Mary Anderson - even slightly less famous
Susan Barstow - the least famous of them all
Henry Irving - a dashing actor
Executioner….well, duh (very small part)
The Announcer (very small part)

3.  MEMORIAL CELEBRATION FOR PHYL PEACH - Tuesday 8 September 
After the AGM, we are planning a special night of entertainment to remember life member Phyl Peach, who passed away last year. So many of us remember her tremendous contribution to the Club, and particularly her dedication as Props Manager.  All are welcome to join in the celebration in our newly-refurbished Weld Theatre.
A special performance is planned.  Please come along and celebrate the special contribution that Phyl made in our Club over many years. 
   

4.  AUDITIONS FOR ANNUAL PANTOMIME - sessions starting Saturday 12 September 
Watch this space for details about pantomime auditions.  This summer's pantomime will be the best ever (we always say this!)
As we return to our Weld Theatre after renovations, this will be a special event. Details about how to get involved as cast, crew and support will be posted soon.  We'd love you to join us.  Check our facebook page and www.busseltonrepertory.com.au as well as your inbox for details very soon.

5.  BECOME A MEMBER - a great way to belong

Be part of the newly-refurbished Weld Theatre. As you know, there's a huge resurgence of interest in local live theatre.  We've had sold-out theatre shows recently, and with new shows coming up, you'll want to be in the "front seat" and part of the action.  Remember, members get priority seat booking.
Our Weld Theatre is an integral part of the Busselton Cultural Precinct, including Saltwater and the Old Courthouse complex. As mentioned, your membership will get you preferential booking at the Repertory Club shows.
Renew or get your membership at the AGM meeting, using cash or card if you wish.  You can do this for $10 at the door. Direct bank deposit details will also be available.
