2022 Expression of Interest from Directors

The closing date is October 1 2021.

The Club is seeking applications from Directors and emerging Directors for our 2022 productions at The Weld Theatre Busselton

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and emerging directors to apply for 2022, with a favourite play.

We would also like to encourage those who would be interested in directing a One Act Play or a Full Play for the first time, or maybe haven’t directed for a number of years.

For discussion about any aspects of play choice or director support and advice please contact our Creative Coordinator Leanne to discuss: creativecoordinator.bsnrep@gmail.com First time directors are encouraged to submit a One Act Play, if possible.

Those who would like to direct a play and have not yet chosen or finalised a script, are encouraged to apply and then to contact Leanne for follow up on play selection and/or access to scripts.

The Busselton Repertory’s successful seasons of Plays depend on the enthusiasm and support of the BRC members and our community. We aim to provide opportunities for Directors, Actors and Crew members. We are
committed to providing support for all those who want to become involved.

All interested parties are welcome. Invite someone along with you.

  • Date and Time: Sunday 8 March 1pm-4pm with a light afternoon tea afterwards

This could be your big chance to shine!

2. Breaking News
The renovated Weld Theatre will be finished and ready to "rock and roll" within months!  Some structural work continues for roof safety and compliance for stage lighting.
It's very important to us all that we welcome back all Club members, old and new, after such a long time.  A very grand party will be organised for members once we have occupancy.  In the meantime, we plan to have "Winter Warmer" sundowners on some Fridays at around 5.00pm, so we can catch up with each other.  Further details to follow.

3. Once Upon a Time in Pantoland - a thousand thanks!

Thanks to all those who provided support so that we could produce a very special and full Pantomime, while out of our home, The Weld Theatre. Our recent Pantomime "Once upon a time in Pantoland" was a great success.  It was held at the Busselton Senior High School in January.
In particular, a special thanks is extended to

  • City of Busselton for their financial support to cover expenses incurred due to the unavailability of the Weld Theatre.  That support ensured that our iconic annual Pantomime was able to go ahead.

Special mention also goes out to

  • Busselton Senior High School

  • Acting Up!

Our production certainly was a team effort. Thanks to all our volunteers.
The Directors - Leanne and Veronica
The Cast - 40 including lead actors, the ensemble and a junior ensemble
The Crew - too many to be counted, but including the following Team Leaders: Production Managers Libby $ Lesley;  Musical Director Ange;  Choreography Rochelle;  Stage Manager James;  Hair & Make-up Toni;  Props Pyll RIP;  Technical Managers Sam & John;  Costumes Natasha;  Sets & Painting Jay & Catherine; Front of House Chris & Lesley;  Graphics Damien;  Raffles Sarah.
Each of the names above had a full team of skilled volunteers behind them.  We are so proud and grateful to everyone who contributed to "Once upon a time in Pantoland" 2026.
Busselton Repertory Club appreciates their generosity for all the time and skills provided. Chances are they had fun too!
