Busselton Repertory Club Inc.

2022 Expression of Interest from Directors

The closing date is October 1 2021.

The Club is seeking applications from Directors and emerging Directors for our 2022 productions at The Weld Theatre Busselton

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and emerging directors to apply for 2022, with a favourite play.

We would also like to encourage those who would be interested in directing a One Act Play or a Full Play for the first time, or maybe haven’t directed for a number of years.

For discussion about any aspects of play choice or director support and advice please contact our Creative Coordinator Leanne to discuss: creativecoordinator.bsnrep@gmail.com First time directors are encouraged to submit a One Act Play, if possible.

Those who would like to direct a play and have not yet chosen or finalised a script, are encouraged to apply and then to contact Leanne for follow up on play selection and/or access to scripts.

The Busselton Repertory’s successful seasons of Plays depend on the enthusiasm and support of the BRC members and our community. We aim to provide opportunities for Directors, Actors and Crew members. We are
committed to providing support for all those who want to become involved.

1.  The Latest on the Refurbished Weld Theatre

The Weld Theatre Renovation Project Update - Message from your Management Committee.

At a recent meeting held between The Repertory Club (President, Vice President, and Technical Director) with City of Busselton staff (Project Manager, Saltwater Event Manager, and Saltwater Technical Manager), it was revealed that due to current building requirements, the Club’s re-entry back into the Weld Theatre has been further delayed until 2026.

The integration works between the new Saltwater and the Weld Theatre are behind schedule and, without an exact re-entry date, the Club is not in a position to have access to The Weld.  The only advantage this further delay provides is that theatre users will benefit from the many new and upgraded facilities at The Weld currently being worked on,  including stage lighting, entire building electrical re-wiring, upgraded dressing rooms, make-up spaces, fire control systems, new carpets, stairways etc.

Thank you for your ongoing support of The Busselton Repertory Club, and we look forward to seeing you in The Weld Theatre with its enhanced facilities, in due course.

  The Repertory Club Committee

2.  The Tradition continues - Pantomime is on again this coming January
Despite not having access to our theatre, we will go ahead with our famous Annual Pantomime.  We have now started planning for the annual Pantomime to be held in early January 2026 at a different venue. Watch out for notifications about auditions, and please offer assistance in any support areas.  The team will need you to make this a smashing success.

So, keep your eyes open for news in your inbox, or on our website at www.busseltonrepertory.com.au .

3.  A new Repertory Club logo?
We are looking for ideas for a possible new logo to showcase on our shirts, promotions and at the theatre.  You may prefer to stick with our present logo. Or do you have some ideas we could use if we go for a new design?  Let us know, as we prepare for the grand re-opening of the Weld Theatre next year.

4.  Please support our wonderful Busselton Hospice.
As a Club, we have often supported the work of our Busselton Hospice over many years.  Please check out this notice below for details. This coming Thursday and Sunday at 11.00am.  Have a fabulous time, while helping a most worthy cause.
